How to try RSVP reading without chasing a speed score

RSVP stands for rapid serial visual presentation. In a reader, it usually means showing words in a fixed place one after another. Instead of moving your eyes across a page, you follow the words as they appear. Aura offers this as an optional reading mode.
Try it on something short
Open an article, choose RSVP in Reading options and start at a pace that feels manageable. Pause whenever you need to think. After a short passage, ask yourself what it said. A higher words-per-minute setting is not evidence that you understood more.
Keep the normal reader available
A normal page makes it easier to look back, compare paragraphs and inspect a diagram. Those actions matter in unfamiliar or technical material. Research reviews describe a trade-off between reading speed and comprehension; we do not promise that RSVP doubles your speed without a cost.
Research review: speed reading and comprehension
If the moving words feel tiring, stop and return to the page. The useful question is whether this presentation suits the text and your preferences, not whether you can keep raising the number.
