Reading with background sound, or without it

Some people like a little rain or room ambience while reading. Others need quiet. The useful test is whether you can follow the text comfortably, not whether a playlist is labelled for focus.
Compare sound with silence
Read a short passage without background audio, then try a sound you already enjoy at a low volume. If you start paying attention to the sound instead of the article, turn it off. You do not need audio to use Aura's reader or its library.
Do not turn a preference into a performance claim
We do not have evidence that a particular Aura sound increases reading comprehension, works best for a personality type or creates a measurable productivity gain. A listening preference is enough reason to use it. It is also enough reason to leave it off.
For a less busy reading screen, try Zen mode or adjust the text and theme. Those choices change what is on the page; background audio changes what you hear. You can keep the two decisions separate.
