Reading experience

Aura Reader

Paste a public article URL and try the web reader without an account or extension. Choose light, warm or dark themes, adjust the font, or use Zen mode. Extraction depends on the source website.

Instapaper

iOS and Android apps offer offline reading. Premium includes text-to-speech playlists on mobile and unlimited speed reading.

Library and notes

Aura Reader

Save reading for later, resume from your progress, and keep highlights and notes. A Google account enables cloud workflows. The Chrome extension saves links and opens the Aura web reader.

Instapaper

Premium includes full-text search, permanent article copies and unlimited notes. These are real strengths for a long-running article archive.

PDFs and e-books

Aura Reader

Upload PDFs and DRM-free EPUB books to your library after signing in. The upload limit is 3 MB per file on Free and 50 MB on Pro. Test a representative file before moving a large collection.

When Aura makes sense

Choose Aura if you want to save interesting articles during the day and return to a calm web library with PDFs and EPUB books alongside them. You can try an article before creating an account. Projects and briefs remain optional; you do not have to organize your reading as research.

When the other reader makes sense

Choose Instapaper if native mobile offline reading or scheduled Kindle digests are central to your routine. Choose Aura for browser-based reading that puts your DRM-free EPUB books next to saved articles.

Try it before moving your library

Open one article you actually read, upload a small DRM-free book or PDF, and save a note. Aura does not offer a dedicated one-click migration from this service. Keep your existing archive and annotations until you have checked what you can bring across. Newsletter web links and RSS are supported; a dedicated inbox for forwarded emails is not.
