Auto-scroll for reading without moving the wheel

If you keep reaching for the mouse wheel while reading, let the page move for a while. Auto-scroll advances the full text at a pace you choose. The sentences above and below remain in view, unlike a word-by-word display.

Read an article

Find a pace that leaves room to think

Enable Auto-scroll in Reading options and use the speed slider in the desktop toolbar. Start slowly enough to read without chasing the last line. The number controls movement, not reading ability. Dense paragraphs may need a slower pace than a familiar story.

Stop for the part that deserves another look

Turn Auto-scroll off before studying a diagram, selecting a quotation or writing a note. You can scroll back manually and restart later. The tool does not know when you have understood a paragraph or when a footnote needs your attention.

Use it in the scrolling reader

Auto-scroll is intended for the normal scrolling view. The paged Ebook view has its own way of moving through text, so choose one approach at a time. Auto-scroll requires Pro. On a phone, the menu offers the switch; the detailed speed slider is in the desktop toolbar.

Where to find it

  1. Open a text in the normal scrolling view with an Aura Pro account.
  2. Enable Auto-scroll in Reading options. On desktop, adjust the speed using the slider that appears.
  3. Switch it off from the same menu whenever you want to pause and reread.

Before you start

Does it read the article aloud?

No. Auto-scroll moves text on screen. It is not text-to-speech or an audio player.

Does the speed adapt to my reading?

No. You set the scrolling speed yourself. Slow it down or turn it off when the text needs more time.
