Save articles for later. Read when you have time.
An essay from a friend. A long interview you opened between meetings. Save the link while it is in front of you and return when you can give it your attention. Aura keeps your chosen reading beside your PDFs and EPUB books.
Save your first articleClose the tab, keep a way back
Open the Aura extension on a public article and choose Save to Aura. Wait for the confirmation, then check Open library. Sign in to Aura in the same Chrome profile first. The extension also has Open clean reader for reading now; opening a page and saving it are different actions.
A link is not a copy of the article
A bookmark keeps the address and article details. When you reopen it, Aura may need to fetch the source again. Pro adds saving full article text to your cloud library through the reader's full-text save action. Check that the save completed. Neither option unlocks a publisher subscription or guarantees that every web page can be extracted.
Your next read, without another search through tabs
Choose an unread or in-progress article from your library. Read it with the font and theme you prefer, then mark it done. Keep PDFs in their document view and EPUBs in E-books. You do not need to assign a project or write a brief to use this as a personal reading list.
Keep the thought, not just the title
While signed in, select a passage and save a highlight with an optional note. A name to look up, a sentence you want to quote or a question for later can stay connected to its source. Return through Highlights & notes rather than trying to remember which article contained it.

Choose a library size you understand
Free currently allows five active cloud bookmarks. Saving another article at the limit can automatically archive an older unread item. Archived bookmarks can be removed after 30 days, including on Pro, so the archive is not a permanent backup. Keep separate copies of important material and check the current pricing page before choosing a plan.
How to save articles for later in Chrome
Where to find it
- Sign in to Aura and open a public article in Chrome.
- Use Save to Aura in the extension, or paste a URL in Aura and save the article from the reader.
- Wait for confirmation and check the item in your library.
- Return to the library when you want to read; mark the item done when you finish.
Before you start
Do I need the extension?
No. You can paste a public article URL on the home page and save it from the reader. The extension saves you the copy-and-paste step on desktop Chrome.
Can I try Aura without signing in?
You can try the article reader without an account. Cloud bookmarks, file uploads and saved highlights require sign-in.
Will a saved link work if the original disappears?
Not necessarily. A link bookmark is not a full-text copy. Pro's full-text saving is a separate action, and the archive should not be used as a permanent backup.
Can I read my whole library offline?
Do not rely on that. Aura does not promise complete offline access to your private library. Keep a separate copy if you need a document without a connection.
